Fly-in Gorilla Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat and cut out long driving hours from Entebbe, allowing you more time to explore Bwindi beyond the Gorillas.
Day 1: Fly-in to Kisoro Airstrip & Proceed to Bwindi
You will be picked up from your hotel in Entebbe and transferred to the airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Bwindi at 7:15am. Your driver/guide will be waiting at Kisoro airstrip and will then transfer you to the lodge.
Overnight: Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge
Meals: Half Board
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
You will have an early morning breakfast and depart the lodge with your packed lunch and water. You will be driven for a short distance to the park headquarters, where you will receive a briefing from the park ranger guide and learn about the particular Gorilla family that you will be visiting that day.
After the briefing, it is from here that you can hire a porter if you need one to assist you on the trek ($20), recommended, and get back in the vehicle with your ranger guide, and drive to the starting point.
You will enter the forest and begin the trek until you find the gentle, giant primates going about their business. The trek can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours, and after finding them, you will stay in their company for a maximum of 1 hour and then head out of the forest.
After the trek, you will graduate (receive your Gorilla trekking certificate), and your driver/guide will drive you back to the lodge.
If you still have more energy to burn, you can take part in some of the several optional activities, like a village walk.
Overnight: Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge
Meals: Full Board
Day 3: Fly to Entebbe and Departure.
Enjoy breakfast early in the morning, and your driver/guide will drive you back to Kisoro airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe airport and connect with your onward flight, marking the end of this fly-in Gorilla safari in Uganda.
